Ponta em Branco BACK

The arrival to Odeceixe and to the southwest border of the Alentejo region is rewarded with the superb view over Odeceixe beach, with the mountain top of Fóia and Monchique as a backdrop. Ponta em Branco (White summit) so named for the colour of the sediments that form its summit, marks the border between the Alentejo and the Algarve regions and it’s one of those places where you will want to stop to admire the scenery and sit down for a break. Be careful, you’re right on the precipice!

Respect the purity and fragility of this place and only come here on foot!

After descending to the beach, take the paved road parallel to the river, for about 4 km, until you reach the national road, arriving at the village of Odeceixe.
