Circular Routes

Are you eager to walk and try some of these trails, but don't know exactly where to start your Rota Vicentina? Don't go any further, try one of the new Circular Routes, this is the best option to start hiking the Sw Portugal.

The Dunes of Almograve

This circular route allows you to experience one of the most marked dichotomies of the Sw Alentejo – conservation of nature vs intensive farming. The former is first and foremost a moral imperative for future generations, the latter a priority for the survival of current generations.

S. Luís Gardens

If you haven’t discovered the pleasure of hiking, don’t you have much time, or look for a short, easy, accessible walk, then this circular route was created for you. With only 3.5 km it's an ideal program for all the family.

Troviscais to Mira

This is a perfect hike to experience in just half a day the essence of the Historical Way of the Rota Vicentina and an ideal route for lovers of wild plants or birdwatching.

Santa Clara Routes

The route consists of two circular routes, which combined make up a total of 23 km, with the village of Santa Clara in the centre, allowing you to choose between doing the two stretches or just one of them, starting at the Santa Clara Sabóia station, at the dam or in one of the villages.

From Bordeira to the Sea

On this walk you will feel the strong connection of this historical village to the incredible coastal zone which characterises the climate and rhythm of life. Along the way you will also come across the symbolic pine forest of Bordalete and the beach of Bordeira or Carrapateira, famous for its vast sands and dunes as far as the eye can see.

Endiabrada and the Hidden Lakes

Coinciding in part with the Arrifana » Carrapateira section of the Historical Way, this walk allows you to journey through the Mediterranean woodland on foothills of the Serra de Espinhaço do Cão and discover the incredible interior region surrounding the charismatic village of Bordeira.

Carrapateira Hills

The successive panoramic views that you get from the top of the hills, of the beaches of Amado and Bordeira, the villages of Carrapateira and Vilarinha, as well as all the surrounding area as far as the top of Monchique mountains, make this a spectacular route for those who appreciate great views.
