Be a volunteer
Only through the involvement of communities, a project like Rota Vicentina will have future. We believe that by participating directly, each person can make Rota Vicentina their own. Volunteering it's one of the ways of doing it. These are the most common activities, but we are working to go further:
- Monitoring of trail quality
- Repainting route markers and place marking poles
- Cutting and clearing acacia on the Fishermen's Trail
- Garbage collection on the trails and beach cleaning
- Awareness campaigns
- Collection of answers to the Hiker's Questionnaire in specific days
On Rota Vicentina, volunteering has 3 main roles:
Trail Care Takers: individuals, families, groups, associations or companies that assume the responsibility for taking care of a piece of the Rota Vicentina of their preference on a regular basis.
Help us protect the Rota Vicentina and the region and encourage others to do the same.
Volunteers: people that help occasionally during specific activities.
Hikers: that help identifying failures in the route marking, damaged equipment, garbage or other issues.
If you live in the region or visit regularly and identify with this ambitious mission of rooting Rota Vicentina in Sw Portugal, fill in the form below or subscribe the Volunteer Newsletter. You'll start to receive news of all volunteering initiatives.
