The Rota Vicentina Association has just launched its new promotional video which is already among the 9 finalists out of 170 candidates in an international competition, promoted by the prestigious ATTA-Adventure Travel Trade Association, the voting for which takes place on line until September 28th in the contest platform. The three finalists with the most votes will be shown at a live screening in front of a sold-out audience at the Adventure Travel World Summit this October in Montecatini Terme, Tuscany. The final winner will be determined with a live audience vote and Rota Vicentina will be there for the 3rd time, this year with a permanent promotional desk.
Please access the ATTA contest portal to vote in our video: Fall in love with this land // Amor a esta terra
After the success achieved by the first video
launched in 2012, which obtained 15 international awards and nominations, the Rota Vicentina is now committed to a complementary and totally innovative concept in its format and the main message.
The challenge is based on the necessary balance between the various types of usage of one of the regions most dear to both the Portuguese and foreigners alike, the Alentejo and Vicentina Coast, the area in which the Rota Vicentina is situated. Residents and tourists, Portuguese and foreigners, walkers amongst others, all united in their love for this land and in their willingness to invest together in a sustainable future.
The word is given to those who feel the scenery, trails, nature, local crafts and the people as inseparable elements, attributing to tourism the important role of feeding a natural, socio-economic, healthy and prosperous ecosystem.
'It's very special for us to be able to be part of this ecosystem for an instant', 'everything is growing, except nature: nature is not growing', 'tourism can be a threat if it is not linked to local roots', 'and if the local economy is strong, the landscape will be stronger and more protected', 'awareness and education are the only possible way'. These are some of the testimonials included in this video which speaks of love, care and hope in the future.
We are very pleased with the outcome of this work, the months were very demanding, but we have managed to show in these four minutes the true mission of this Project. We hope that this reflection on the meaning of sustainability in tourism spreads, it is urgent and very important, not only for this region and for our country, but for the whole world.
A longer version of this video is in preparation by the Rota Vicentina, which will have a documentary record and develop several of the topics covered, through the many testimonials obtained.
